About the photographer

I'm Jon, a law student at Pepperdine University. I'm an amateur photographer who typically shoots still-life and events, though I'm eager to cover other areas of photography when I can.
I shot each of the photos featured on this site, except for the portrait featuring me above. That photo was taken by Tony Richards.
I shoot digital, though my first serious photographs were on film. Back in high school, I took a beginner's photography class and discovered how similar the art was to my experience in graphic design: it was all about balance of elements, colors, and contrasts. Shooting film and developing in darkrooms isn't exactly convenient, however. After that class was over, it took me a few years and a digital SLR before I could pick up the hobby once more.
If you'd like me to shoot something (or someone) in particular or have any other questions or comments, feel free to contact me.
Oh, and in case there's any confusion, I am the shotwhore for which this site is named. As far as I know, none of the wonderful people in my photos are whores, so keep the angry letters to yourself ;)
